About us

NGO “DOBRODARY” emerged in 2022 as a response to the war imposed on Ukraine by an aggressive adversary. Our primary areas of focus involve establishing and managing recreation centers and shelters, fostering the development of local communities, and providing technical assistance in education, culture, and the environment. Additionally, Dobrodary collaborates on charity initiatives and humanitarian aid projects in partnership with both Ukrainian and international organizations.

Mission and main areas of activity

The mission of the NGO “Dobrodary” is to unite the efforts of people of good will to overcome the extremely negative military consequences that Ukrainian society is suffering from. Our main activity is based on providing assistance to those who are most in need of protection and support, in particular, war victims, refugees and people in extremely difficult life circumstances.

Social sphere

We develop and implement charitable projects aimed at solving urgent social problems in the field of overcoming the consequences of war, creating shelters and temporary accommodation centres for refugees and internally displaced persons, promoting recreation and rehabilitation of victims of military operations.

Ecology and environmental protection

We develop and implement a variety of activities aimed at promoting and developing a healthy lifestyle, organising children’s and teenage summer camps, holding sports and tactical military patriotic games, promoting and developing environmental awareness, green tourism, organic farming, renewable energy sources, and environmental protection.

Why did we create “Dobrodary”?

As the name “Dobrodary” suggests, we created a non-governmental organisation to give good, save and help.

Repeatedly in the history of Ukraine, the Carpathians have become a refuge and the last hope to escape from a cruel enemy that was destroying everything around. And today, the Carpathians are resuming their role and hosting a large number of refugees, displaced persons and the wounded for rehabilitation, as well as providing children from all over Ukraine with the opportunity to have a rest. The Carpathians are an ideal place to recuperate for war-affected people, with its beautiful nature, friendly people and an atmosphere steeped in Ukrainian culture. These factors inspired us to create a recreational centre in the Carpathians.

The mountains cover only about 5 per cent of the territory of modern Ukraine, so being in mountains is a very interesting activity for most Ukrainians. We chose Prykarpattia, our beloved Hutsul region, to locate our recreation centre. The Hutsul region has preserved Ukrainian authentic traditions, beautiful nature with incredible views and, most importantly, true Ukrainian hospitality!
